For the money, it s a great buy - OK, so the songs are edited, but what do you expect for the price? You shouldn t pay more than $8 for this CD, and if you end up paying less then you got a great deal. If you re new to the band or if you want the very best of the early stuff then this is a great buy. You get all of their hits and even the last song Remember (Walking In The Sand) is not a bad song at all. Everyone reviewing this CD must remember that Columbia Records went for the radio hits and nothing more. Also, this CD was not approved by the band as they were fighting way too much to be involved in this project. If you have all of the albums after Permanent Vacation, and would like to get familiar with their 70 s stuff, then this is a nice introduction to their pre-1980 s days.
Aerosmith-Greatest Hits - I was very pleased with the song selection of this cd. The sound was FANTASTIC!!!! I have greatly enjoyed listening to this cd many times.
Reasonable collection - I m not a HUGE Aerosmith fan. Their best songs are here, but not all of these songs should be on a best-of. A bigger fan would give this a better rating, probably.
A good look at the band in the seventies - As other reviewers, I would say that some songs are missing (a common problem with any greatest hits) Mama Kin is a good example, but one must admit that the essential is there. This is a good introduction to the band in the seventies, if you like it, go and get all their cd s !A pretty good greatest hitsPS Why is everybody s review is for the audio cassette and only a few for the cd ? I wrote my review where there were more reviews and that was in the audio cassette category. Am I missing something ?
Just What I Wanted - Even though this Aerosmith collection is not comprehensive, I like it, as it has Aerosmith s 70 s hits, which in my opinion is the best Aerosmith. I don t think their 80 s and beyond work was as good as their 70 s output. For me, this works, for someone looking for a more career-spanning disc, look to the other compilations.
